Today

Seize the day! Today is the only thing we have. Yesterday cannot be repeated. Tomorrow may never come. Today is the day that we live in, hope in, trust in, and move in. Our actions today determine the opportunities of tomorrow. The seeds planted today become the harvest of tomorrow.

When Jesus taught us to pray, He said, “Give us today our daily bread. ” (Matthew 6:11, NIV) We are not taught to get tomorrow’s bread today and save it. We are taught to seek God today and to rely on God today. We seek God now – in the present “So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 3:7–8, NIV) We obey God today, not yesterday.

How do the decisions of today affect our future?

A few months ago the Lord spoke to me that the coming year would be a year of restoration. I had a hard time believing it, but I chose to write the word down in my “today” and pray about it. That prayer kept me open to the possibilities God placed before me. It opened my eyes to the opportunities God gave me. Today an opportunity came that I was ready for. Today an opportunity that provided some restoration presented itself. I was prepared.

When an opportunity arises, our past choices dictate if we are ready to walk in the door of the opportunity. If we made good choices, we will be ready when the opportunity comes. . As we walk into the opportunity, other “Todays” become our reality.

The time to prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities is today. Do not deceive yourself and think you can prepare when you actually see the opportunity.

What has God called you to do? If you believe it, you will not wait for the opportunity to begin preparing. You have today, then prepare today. Are you called to start a business, then get your Business education and degree. Are you called to write a novel? Then today, start by writing a page. Does God want you to have a better job? Then today practice your belief and improve your skills.

Has God called you to preach? Then today, while there seems to be no opportunity, become a student of His Word. Has God called you to lead and yet there seems to be no place for you? Then become a servant and choose to do what no one else wants to do.

As you take advantage and prepare today, the opportunities of tomorrow will no longer be closed doors.

Your belief in what God has spoken to you about your future is reflected by what you do today.
